Steve Sangapore’s SciArt Series

Editor’s Note: I met Steve Sangapore at an art opening last year when he was showing one of his pieces (Virtuality) below. What struck me about his work was the complexity of ideas being communicated all at once. My eye would focus on one aspect of it, only to be drawn away a moment later to another section, forcing me to visually zoom in while I pondered its significance. The interconnectedness of all these seemingly disparate parts – some instantly recognizable, others more abstract – was one of the reasons I put a check next to his name on my exhibition notepad.

I’d like to mention that two of the pieces – Virtuality and Omneity – are painted on angled canvases which create a 3-dimensional depth that a computer screen cannot capture. about_me_headshot_space2Steve Sangapore is an artist based in Boston, MA. He is a 2013 graduate of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT with a B.A. earned in Studio Art, Graphic Design and Music. His work is currently exhibiting and publishing nationally and has recently been featured on the cover of Art Ascent Journal of Art & Literature. He has also been published in the Creative Quarterly Journal for Art & Design, Art Business News, Studio Visit Magazine and has won awards in the northeastern region.

Steve is currently working for Hasbro, Inc. as a Graphic Production Specialist and has experience in digital production working for magazines such as The Writer, Jazztimes, Digital Photo, Art Business News and many more.
