Enter Our 100th Member Contest, Win A Fictional Café Baseball Cap!

FC capWe’re quickly approaching the century mark in membership at the Fictional Café Coffee Club [WOO HOO!], so we baristas have put together a contest to celebrate the event. We’re asking you Coffee Club members to encourage your friends, family, colleagues, writing class, church, skydiving group and kickball league to join us.

Member #100 will receive a Fictional Café baseball cap! [You can see us wearing ours here.]

But that’s not all. In appreciation to our loyal and supportive followers for spreading the word, we’ll send the member who refers our hundredth new member a Fictional Café baseball cap too! All you need to do is send us an email with the names of your referrals. We’ll keep track of those who sign up and make sure you both get your just reward. And even if you don’t score on #100, we’re giving the  ten members who send us the most referrals a really cool Fictional Café window/bumper sticker.

The contest runs for the month of August, although we have a sneaking suspicion it will be over much sooner. We’ll announce the winners on August 31.

To make it easier for you to enlist new members, here’s some copy you can copy and paste [and edit as you wish] into your own email messages:

I’m a member of the Fictional Café, an online arts ‘zine that publishes short stories, novel excerpts, poetry, photography and art by its members each month. It’s pretty cool, like the old coffee houses where anybody can get up on the stage and read or show their work. The Fictional Café baristas select new work each month and occasionally post an interview, blog, book review, or something interesting from the arts.

I think you’ll like becoming a member of their Coffee Club, especially if you’d like to see your work published [you have to be a member]. It’s quick and easy and they won’t spam you, ever. Right now they’re running a contest: the 100th new member gets a Fictional Café baseball cap, and if you’re the winner, I get one too! So what are you waiting for? Jump over to the Fictional Café and join the Coffee Club. I hear they have a bunch more fun stuff planned for us members!

Thanks for your continuing support for the Fictional Café!

Jack, Mike and Jason
